The main purpose of an informational text is to transmit instructions, facts, details, directions and other types of information.
Informational texts are everywhere. Suppose you want to buy a new car. You will look at the car specifications, and sources that tell you more about that car. Or suppose you want to go out to a good restaurant. You can scavenge newspapers or articles about a great restaurant near you.

News articles inform you about the latest events happening in the world. They can tell you about the dispute happening in Syria, the riots in Baltimore, or the devastating earthquake that hit Nepal.
Feature Articles:
Feature articles inform you about something that may interest you. It can include a how-to, a news feature, the Best article feature, human-interest feature, informational feature and personality feature. Many magazines or newspapers often have feature articles that tell you about something.
Textbooks:
A textbook is usually in the field of education. A textbook educates you about a certain academic topic.

You've probably seen these when you buy a new tv or setting up the swing on the patio. An instruction manual informs you on the procedure of doing something.

First of all, we can depict that this article is non fiction because it is based on a real person with a real disease. It is also a feature article. Next, we can get a hint of what the article is going to be about by reading the headline. We can assume it is about with some sort of disease. After watching the visual aid, we completely understand what this disease is like and how Brynn cope's with the disease. Then, the article is divided into subheadings about what the selection is about. The article is further supported by the graphic aid of Bryan's selfie. There also a isolated section that tells you more about the mast cell disease.
